Thinking about throwing myself straight into the fire

Thinking about joining my local gym. I’m 6’3 330 lbs And fairly out of shape. I did however quit smoking/vaping about a year and a half ago so my wind is a little better but I keep telling myself I need to get in better shape before starting. Should I lose some weight first or am I full of shit? 25/yo
