I’ve been training for about a year and I love it Pads classes are great, the vibe is fun and I leave feeling like I learned and accomplished something, it’s making me stronger and faster
But lately, on direction of my coach, I’ve been doing more intro sparring classes (drills and light sparring) and regular sparring classes (8 x 4-minute hard rounds, switch partners every time, followed by ~20 minutes of clinching)
After these sparring classes I feel bad. I’m losing more than half of the rounds and I don’t feel like I’m learning I go into the sparring classes with specific things to try and do/learn but once the fighting starts I can’t do the things I want to do and I’m getting frustrated, mixed up/ beaten up
How can I make sparring more fun, even when I’m worse than 50% of the people there
