So I started going more to sparring and im trying to work on blocking kicks, but i never manage to do it on time. What happens now is that i raise the block right as they are about to hit my ribs with the kick – which kinda stops their kick as i knee them in the calf/hamstring (the block comes below their leg), and allowing me to trap their leg easily. Is this a thing people use? Or is it only somewhat beneficial in sparring?
