Is it douchey to wear flashy gear?

Looking to buy my first set of shin guards and gloves, wondering what the general consensus is about getting a set with a flashy design. I found a couple online that I think look cool (generally I like black/gold designs), but since I’m pretty new to muay thai I don’t know if I’m gonna get clowned on for having gear that’s too over-the-top. Would I look like a total poseur walking in with some nice gear or do people just not gaf?
