Is grappling taught better then striking?

I was having this thought last night and wanted to share with to see if anyone agrees or can offer any counterpoints that I’m not seeing. I am a purple belt in jiu jitsu ,I have 2 amateur Muay Thai fights , and I’ve been training consistently since i was 18. As I’ve been training I feel like I’ve noticed something about striking programs in multiple gyms that differs from grappling. I feel like grappling is taught better than striking, I feel like when someone is running a bjj class there’s a lot more detail that is taught , the concepts of the techniques shown are usually discussed in detail. Where as I feel like striking classes are usually set up like this coach show a combo , practice combo on bag or pads , and then try combo during sparring on sparring days. Striking is so much more complicated than people realize, there’s so many different ways to use each strike, so many different ranges to fight in etc. I feel like a lot of striking classes dumb everything down and the more advanced concepts of striking are lost. It’s usually up to the students to shadowbox and experiment in sparring on their own in these cases. Thoughts?
