Never fought amateur, but coach wants me to go pro in 4 months.

I’ve only been training real boxing for about a month now at an actual competitive boxing gym. Before that, I had 7-8 years of experience in various martial arts. (I’m currently 20, I started at 13.) My main background was Vovinam, then I learned mma, some wrestling & bjj, informal boxing, and got into muay thai until I eventually mixed my art together to fit my personal style. I learned jailhouse rock from my uncle who used to fight underground. Striking is my main foundation, and using hands is what I preferred.

Right now I train under the head coach and his son who is already an upcoming pro. I’ve only been training for a month, and although between my martial arts & weightlifting, I am still out of shape from smoking and unhealthy habits. I quit smoking 2-3 months ago, but it had an effect on my lungs still. I see improvement in my gas tank and boxing techniques. So I’m slowly getting used to the rough roadwork.

My coach and his son told me that I was going to have my first pro fight in four months, I had a confused look. When I first came to this gym, fighting wasn’t the priority at all, I just love the art, but yes as a kid I dreamed of going pro and never thought a chance would occur, so I pushed pro dreams aside. They want me to debut as an A side fighter, I have zero competition, and also zero amateur experience. Never have I ever competed a day in my life, I’ve only had many hard sparring sessions, but never competed.

I’m still processing this and don’t know where to go from here (I’m currently a student, and jumbling life right now. I also have to drive 40 mins in houston traffic every time I get to this gym.) This must be too fast for someone at my stage right? Could somebody please let me know.

If anyone wants to see how I move or train, I’ve got a few clips on my IG (masian2x)—I just need feedback.

Would appreciate honest advice from anyone who’s been in a similar spot or has gone pro early.
