Hey all.
Yesterday a tore my calf muscle. Over the last few weeks I finally got a solid cardio strategy to fit into my weight lifting and Muay Thai training. I was really proud of this and confident it would help my training! I was also already seeing the results by having some great sparring sessions.
Yesterday I jumped rope in the morning. I felt my calf was really tight, but did some stretching and thought nothing of it. Then, while training later that day I got done with WARM UPS and felt a small pop. I continued class because I was trying out a new fight-focused gym and there was no way I was going to quit after warm ups (probably dumb, but I just couldn’t). After class my calf got incredibly sore and I learned I tore part of my muscle.
Anyways – I was up last night just going over my day and wishing I would have done something different. I’m very worried about how far this will set me back, especially since I’ve been putting in some real time and effort to progress. I’m writing this just to share this experience with some people that’ll understand. Best of luck with training all and watch out for those tight muscles!
