So I’ve been training MT for about 4-5 months now. I work away 1 week on 1 week off but when I’m home I’ll train 4-6 times a week (one of those days being a double session). We start our session with 2x 3 minute rounds of skipping with 10 push ups and 10 sit ups in between. After the skipping rounds we do the routine stretch in a circle and then we shadow box for 2x 3 minute rounds. We then get shown a technique and instead of practicing the technique itself we get given a 9 move combo to go with it. We spend the next 3 minutes trying wrap our heads around the combo, mind you the guy on the pads is trying to figure it out too then once we just get a flow of things we jump into a completely different 9 move combo. We practice on average 3x 9 move combos a session, we used to spar for the last 10 minutes but now my gyms just gone from two full sessions of sparring a week and sparring at the end of every session for 10 minutes to only sparring once a week. I mean I really enjoy where I am but it’s starting to get quite repetitive in a sense and I feel like I’m not getting the benefits I would elsewhere. I’m not naming and shaming as I have huge respect to my Kru but I just want to know if this is the right path for me from other opinions.
