I want to start Muay Thai, but I’m concerned about my cardio. The last time I tried a workout similar to what beginners do in their first class, I actually fainted (most likely because I jumped in too hard with no preparation). Since then, I’ve been able to do push-ups and squats without issues, but cardio has always been more challenging for me.
Here’s the plan I’m thinking: 1)Walk 30 minutes at a fast pace every day after school (with my heavy school bag). 2)Do push-ups, squats, and core work at home a few times per week. 3)After a few weeks, add some skipping.
If I follow this for about a month or two, will it be enough to get through a beginner Muay Thai class without completely gassing out, fainting, or getting sick?
P.S. For anyone who remembers their first Muay Thai session, what does it usually look like? What kind of exercises and drills should I expect?
